Common Ground Garden is constantly trying to build bridges and make connections within and around our community to support our mission. Listed below are some of our most valued collaborators. We could not do what we do with out their continued support!

Palo Alto Christian Reformed Church generously leases a half acre of land every year to Common Ground Garden free of charge. PACRC supports us in our mission in many ways, including by providing water and indoor teaching space. PACRC also provides a great sense of community for the garden, and has continued to do so since it started in the ’60s. As a thank you, we provide church goers with fresh vegetables whenever possible.

Transition Palo Alto is bringing people together to build a a more sane and sustainable world from the ground up. We work with TPA to collaborate on events at Common Ground like Garden Shares and Share Faires. TPA has also helps us to paint garden signs for use in our beds at Craftivism events.

We work closely with Palo Alto Unified School District by running regular garden lessons in the garden for students from Terman Middle School and Gunn High School. These classes occur 2-3 times per week and focus on various aspects of gardening, food production, and sustainability. PAUSD funds these classes through generous ongoing grants from their PTAs and previously though PiE.

Young Life Christian Preschool’s mission is to equip students to be emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically ready for the challenges of kindergarten. The preschool shares a campus with Common Ground Garden, so we are able to work closely with them to provide weekly garden lessons to the students. Our youngest students enjoy activities like planting seeds, learning about worms, tasting and smelling herbs, and contributing to our compost piles.
