What is it?

The Edible Garden Tour, a self-guided tour of local gardens, is Common Ground Garden’s main fundraiser. All proceeds from ticket sales go to support our programs, which include: running the sustainable demonstration garden, youth education, adult volunteering and education, and donating fresh vegetables each week to local food closets.

Your ticket purchase gives you access to a map of participating gardens, featuring not-to-be-missed highlights: mini-orchards, grey water catchment systems, gardening demos, a bounty of berry varieties, native plants, medicinal herbs, ancient grains, and–of course–lovely gardens teeming with veggies!

Start your self-guided tour by visiting Common Ground Garden, and take advantage of the free garden snacks, drinks, tables from local organizations, and a raffle with many incredible prizes. Rediscover the delights of small, local gardens in your community. Soak up new water-saving, green-thumb gardening tips. Connect and share ideas with other gardeners.

To make the tour accessible to the whole community we have tiered pricing for tickets (including options for a smaller or larger donation to Common Ground Garden).

We also offer discounts for groups of 5 or more.

Gardens will be focused near Palo Alto (including East Palo Alto, Los Altos, Mountain View, and Menlo Park. Each city will feature at least one local community-oriented garden.

    Dear Common Ground Program Manager,

How do I sign up or register for the July 8th Garden Tour? When I tried to sign up I was directed to a volunteer questionaire, and I can’t volunteer this year.

Thanks for your help, Kay Stewart

Too bad I only saw this the day of the event. How often does this tour happen?
